CoinMarketCap.

On June 21, it was a difficult day for two security-related projects known in the encryption ring.

First, CoinMarketCap (CMC). This website that you normally use to see the price of money suddenly pops up on the front page of a "validation wallet" that looks like an official tip, but it's a fishing attack. Many users feedback on this bullet window on X, CMC then sends a response: the problem is the doodle picture on the home page, which uses the API to call for the loading of a malicious code to induce the user to connect to the wallet.

The good news is, CMC found out fast and reacted fast. Within less than three hours, they removed the malicious code, identified the source of the problem and indicated that they had enhanced their protective measures. Phantom's wallet even directly marked CMC as an unsafe site at the time, avoiding more recruitment. The website is now back to normal, and there is an official commitment to follow up and improve security.

But it's not just CMC out of trouble.

On the morning of the same day, there was also a security incident at the encrypted security audit company Hacken. The project has provided services such as smart contract audits, dApp security analysis, penetration testing, currency model review for over 1,500 Web3 and government and business clients since 2017. They've been advocating "good faith is the new Web3 rule" and working on a world free from fraud and corruption.

But this time, Hacken himself $Something happened to Hai. Team CEO Dyma Budorin sent several messages on X that state that BNB Chain and Ether are now on board $The HAI contract is under attack. All cross-chain bridges have been shut down. $HAI is the only valid version.

He said he was not sure if it was a private key leak, but in any event, the team had been investigating all night and had begun to move forward. $HAI merges into a security token with legal compliance status. He stressed that the accident would not affect the long-term development of the project.

As of the time of writing,$HAI has fallen 34.9 per cent over the past 24 hours.

These two events remind us that even "safe" teams can be attacked. In the chain world, any link, a bullet window could be a trap. Before using a wallet, the source must be repeatedly identified and the connection must not be random.

In this rapidly growing industry, security remains the most important link. Stay alert and protect your assets.
